Ed/Rick,
Made hotel reservations today. I'll not be bringing any of my 1/18th Porsche 928's (well, I COULD bring one maybe), but I'm 99% sure Jim Heisick will be bringing his blk/blk '91 GT with about 50K miles of race track driving under it's belt!!

Edison Hotel reviews:

It is still a whorehouse you can still get what you want from the place if you have the right amount

I love the fact that it is the oldest hotel in Pittsburgh, the elevator does need a gentlemen to crank you up and down. That is nostalgic, yes there is a bar with exotic dancers on a stage. You can take it … more
A Yahoo Local User04/13/2010
A hotel located in downtown Pittsburgh for \$60. Whats the catch? It is a whorehouse, literally. From the moment we checked in, we knew exactly what we were getting into. In the lobby, there is a door that takes you straight to the strip club. Also, there was a small store right inside the lobby with 8" heels and clothing you would find on only a stripper. Not to mention, strippers were pouring in and out of the hotel rooms all night long. I should probably add that our room was the most out-dated hotel room I have yet to see in all of my years. Not to mention, I couldnt help but imagine what sort of activity has taken place on the bed prior to our arrival. I will admit, if it were not for the issue of cleanliness, I would possibly stay there again. ONLY because it is located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh and costs \$60 per night. That is THE only reason.. and thats still a maybe.

outstanding Gary, looking forward to seeing you. You can register your MB directly through PVGP, and park it on the lawn. That group, if you recall is right next tour Porsche group.
Tony - Tambra will definitely not like it!

Also, great news - the most special of the special continue to commit. Spoke with Roger today, and we will indeed have the Club Sport.
I am continuing to work on getting more historic cars here for the event.
We have a pretty strong list so far - a bevy of 78s and 79s,85s, 86.5s, 89GTs, 91 GTs, a GTS, and working very hard to try to get #1 and/or #6 (Jim I sent you an email the other day to follow up).

Tony,
I made reservations here: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotel...ad-waterfront/
Space is available (even on points), and it is about 4-5 miles from Schenley Park.

Also, although Myself and Ed will have to be at Schenley Park very early in the morning on Sat and Sun so we can't lead you into the city. Otto and Robin (and Steve G one year) have made their way from Cranberry (North of Pittsburgh) relatively easy. It's not that bad when you get to the park around 9 or 10.
Just a thought for all the 928 group from out of town. It would be awesome if all our 928 friends were all together.

Hi Guys - what Rick said.
I usually pin down the hotel in Feb/Mar. I will do so earlier this year, and it will likely be the same hotel as last year Pittsburgh Marriott North in Cranberry Twp PA. They typically have plenty of rooms, so not much to fear in that regard, and the price is very reasonable - I think it was around $115 +/- last year.
More to follow.
for now, its off to the Daytona 24

I vote for the shabby chic of the Holiday Inn Express Cranberry.

A stone's throw from an Eat N Park and a car wash and it has a parking lot suitable for repair sessions.

Rick,
Won't be staying at the Marriott Cranberry. I had a bad experience there 2 years ago, and the staff was totally non-apologetic and nearly useless in trying to correct it. I'd made a reservation for a room for 2 people with two queen beds in April, which they had gladly accepted. When I got there about 3:00 on Friday, they said "we have no more rooms with two beds, so we've moved you to a king size bed". THAT was unacceptable to me, as the owner of a '91 GT was rooming with me, not my wife!! They simply said' "that's all we have, as there is a wedding reception here and they filled up the two queen bed rooms'. Asked for Supervision, and got the same story from her.
I don't accept or do further business with a hotel that doesn't honor their commitments.
And, the Courtyard is cheaper, closer to the Park, and going to from Cranberry for the Double Wide gathering is not a problem.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
