Default Hatch leak from inside the hatch lid

My leak is from inside the hatch lid itself. Can I assume this is not coming from the hinges?

Hi, most likely not the hinges, I have seen the Spoiler mounting holes leak, and or could be a poorly sealed glass. Also the Wiper arm and Lock holes could be an issue.

Remove all the inside trim as you will want to clean and deox the wiring anyway, then holding the Hatch level, pour a cup of water on to the glass then move it up and down looking for the leak(s).

hope this helps, please let us know what you find.

Kevin get some DC 111 and remove the lock cylinder then remove the cylinder grommet put DC111 on the rubber then put it back in install the lock.
Remove the spoiler then get some 3M strip caulk and put a ball over each bolt hole then install the spoiler.
The hatch glass seal is not the usual leaking issue its the lock or the spoiler bolts on the spoiler mounter to the window surround.
Also use the DC 111 on the wiper pivot rubbers

I see that it's an S4 from the shape of the battery box, so Spoiler holes are in a different location, however the Glass Trim mounting is still in play

It could also be a bad hatch seal or a slightly twisted/mis-aligned hatch frame..........ask me how I know.
