I have a few of these 30A 12V DC switching power supplies on the bench for multiple uses. I was shopping for a supply to power the LED strip lights under the top cabinets over the workbench, and this one looked like a winner. It has a voltage-adjust potentiometer on the edge of the board by the terminal strip. I have mine set at 13.5V, good for any regular car accessory. You can get fancy and add a $5 Harbor Freight DMM to measure actual voltage. In my installation, I have the PS in the dead space in the bottom of the cabinet, with a couple cigarette-lighter sockets wired to it, including 15A fuses on each. I have a Molex-style connector that matches all my 12V charger and maintainer connectors too, with a 20A fuse, so I can use any of the various pigtails I've made for specific cars and other purposes.

Does what I need it to do for under $20, plus the 12V utility outlets.

I have this Pyramid 35 amp supply:

https://www.amazon.com/Pyramid-PS36K...p+power+sulypp

Figured since the biggest fuse in the CE panel was 30 amps, that 35 should be enough.

27 amps on the Rogerblower upgrade:

I have an 800 watt unit in a box somewhere I've been meaning to re-purpose for electrical testing.

Lots of other repurposing can be done with these as well (one powers my led outdoor lighting on the house).

Instructables had a nice write up on exactly this earlier this week.

Got a link? Either I'm missing it or Instructables.com doesn't date their posts, and there are at least dozens on this topic.

Apologies for whining.

The one that I was referencing is here:

http://www.instructables.com/id/A-Si...SZMR5LIMZ661AN

It showed up in an email notification from them, but appears to be on the older side. Hence the inability to find it easily. Sorry for the confusion (and I didn't take your comment as whining )

We still have Radio Shacks around here too.

Although I don't know how, since everything in there is twice as expensive...
