While I'm ordering LEDs I might as well swap the interior festoon bulbs to LED type.

Can anyone point me to the correct LED type?

Thanks.
You get these tested out yet? I need to do the same upgrade on my 87 (clear markers) and would prefer LED's.

This is interesting.... special relay for LED bulbs:

What about the fogs or driving lights? They trigger a warning?

In my experience, these relays work well, if you replace the front turn signal bulbs with LEDs.

However, if you do all four corners, it still flashes at higher frequency, until you add resistors to the front or rear bulbs.

I recently installed that special relay for LED bulbs, and have LED's in all four corners. The flashing rate is normal.

But I have an 85. Don't think that should make a difference.

No resistor? I will have to try that on my S4 soon.

I'm assuming the resistor is still needed for the brake lights, but if I understand previous posts / threads, only one is needed per circuit, not each bulb.

No resistor confirmed.

And I don't have a resistor on my brake lights either and they seem to be working normally.

So what's different between the S3 and S4 then?

Do you recall exactly which bulbs you ordered? Should be the same (or similar) to my 80.

I don't recall the exact bulbs. But will be working on the car this weekend and will report back then.

Cool, thanks. My original plan was to order whatever Super Bright LEDs lists for the car. With the bumper off for paint, now is the time to take apart the light housing and add a resistor if needed.

I'm interested in doing the clear side marker lenses as well. Can I just email 928@AMG for those details/pricing etc?

Thanks!

We have become a stocking dealer for these lenses and lens assemblies.

We have them in stock, and the prices are listed here: http://www.928lighting.com/

Yeah, front and rear side marker lights are not monitored, so don't require a resistor.

Don't know about the driving or fog lights.

Here is what I have on my 85 928S, all from Superbrightleds. No added resistors and all are working fine.

Front turn signals - 67-A15
Rears turn signals - 1156-A26-CBT
Flasher Relay - CF13GL-02 : 3 pin black european flasher

Brake Lights - 1156-R18-T
Rear Lights - 67-R15
Backup - 1156-CW18T

Front Side Marker - 67-A15
Rear Side Marker - 67-R15

Interior Courtesy - 4410-CW8-CB

I also have the WoodyPeck LED complete Front package in the mail. Will be interesting to see the difference with my H4's. Driving last night really reminded me of how much things have improved over the last 31 years.

Hope this info helps folks out with their selection of upgraded lighting.

I also have the clear front turn signal lenses and smoked side marker lenses from Carl.

To me a very nice look on my black car.
