Default tensioning roller (large roller)

I've got the tensioner apart for rebuild. How do I pull the large roller off the carrier for replacement? The bible shows a circlip. Is this holding it in? I've got the new roller out for comparison and it looks like it's just pressed into the carrier. Any suggestions?

Regards,

Rez

P.S.

Thanks to all for the courage and ideas to help me with my first T-belt, waterpump change.

Rez,
I THINK this is relevant, but my memory may be faulty.
When I replaced my roller I had to press it off after taking off the circlip and the metal part actually came off of the plastic roller. I pressed it back on and made sure it was centered after I got the plastic center back on the shaft.

For those who have been drinking tonight. By carrier, are you referring to the idler arm?.

The roller is one unit, once you remove the c-clip and remove the nut from the bolt, simply just tap on the bolt to push it out and if the roller is still fixed, tap slightly all around the roller until it becomes loose.

Simple as Pie

Gee Drew, I can't find a reference for idler arm in the manual, but there is one for tensioner roller carrier.

The c clips purpose is to keep the roller from sliding back onto the arm "carrier for the P.C.".

Just remove the bolt then gently tap the roller out. You dont have too remove the clip prior to removal from the carrier.

Good Luck
