Default School me on injectors...

Not what I was expecting to see when I pulled them for cleaning...

I thought the '83 928s would have a Series 2 injector with O-rings on both sides and a short pintle cap.

What series is this injector and what was the progression through the early 80s L-jet and LH-jet cars?

Thanks all

All injectors from 80-84 US cars are that style. Euro are CIS.

Those are low impedance injectors, not cheap.

The two most common options are having them serviced by places like:

http://cruzinperformance.com/

Or change over to a newer style injector using an adapter on the top end. This is an image from Greg Brown's website on the units he sells for this:

A more complicated route (which I did) is switch over to 85/86 fuel rails. None of the fittings line up so it's a complete custom option. I had one of the rails modified (moved a fitting) to make the hose routing easier.

I have not found this possible on the 80 to 84 USA cars as there is no suitable injector alternative.

Only if you're:
- not concerned about it being stock.
- handy and have acess to a lathe.
- like the idea of having an updated injector.
- etc.

Adjust impedence and lbs/hr to fit your needs.

Since the L-Jet brain is designed to run low impedance injectors, you can safely run high impedance units which is what the LH cars have. Just as long as the lb's per hour matches.

You cannot go the other way around and install low impedance injectors in an LH car you could fry the brain.
