How much is light improved over the standard issue sealed beams I have now?

Where do I buy them? Do you have a contact for the catalog mentioned above?

Thank you, Mark
Yes you can put the H-4 right into your car and have better light and rid yourself of the chrome ring thingys, takes a total of 20 minutes to swap them out. IIRC the h-5's will require an adapter to work on your car. New H-4 will cost you about $500 for the set.

HTH

PS I bought mine from www.928intl.com

If you go with the US 8" models with the 9004 style bulb (refered to as the 'H5' bulb) you will need to change the bulb sockets in the bucket to get them to work.

If you can find a set within your budget, the 8" H4 setup is the way to go. Gets rid of the chrome ring, gets you that flat face etc. They can get a little pricey. Just keep your knows to the grindstone though... and you'll have another flat face.

I'm on the casual lookout for that same H4 set to swap out for my original H5's One of these days I'll get serious enough to just write a check. In the meanwhile, I have the 80/100W bulbs in the H5's. Not the same as the H4's by a lot, but they are good enough for what I need right now.

Hahahahaha. Very smart. I try to stay away from those grindstones.

I found a place that had a special on the h-4 8" for like $380 without the bulbs. (It was their last set. So why the hell am I even mentioning it. Sorry.) I still haven't opened the box, as I'm, ahem, building a garage addition for my incoming '89 GT.
Now everyone really hates me. But I'm having fun.

Hey Moss - haven't seen you around for awhile.

Did you end up selling your 928? Looking for another one?

Oops. Careful in your search for lamps. I discovered today that mine are missing critical parts. I can survive with a little help from 928int'l. Thanks to Jim, I was alerted to the fact that some lamps come with socket holders and rubber sealing parts, and some don't. Mine are actually missing other parts as well. Yippee.
Man, those guys as 928int'l sure are dedicated and helpful. Three cheers.

Lamp on right has a black trunnion thingy with a washer clip on it. Lamp on left only has the stud, and is missing the black part. FWIW.

John, did I read that right? You made those parts? I'm interested. I'm about to try and see if I can use the ones off my Hellas. Anyways, PM me or otherwise let me know more about this.
Jeez, they left them off of yours too?!!!! Conspiracy.

I think the problem is these lenses may and probably come off of another car as well. I will clarify this, sorry... Another Rennlister is having them made for me. Its not a hard procedure.

Well now I feel better about paying more for mine, as by ordering them from 928 Intl. mine came complete, no missing parts, even had the nuts for bolting them in place, since the old 7" ones used two screws on each side.
