As you can see, when putting in the last of my four eccentrics, the pin that makes up part of the lower shock mount broke (don't ask me how - the nut bound up with way less than the proper torque and from there just wouldn't tighten). Anyhow as a temporary solution so I could move the car around the shop I replaced the pin with the pictured M12 bolt (same size as the pin).

Thoughts? I'm guessing I should just replace the whole shock mount but...

Use a grade 10.9 bolt for this application and torque to spec.

I've got a couple spare shock mounts. $10 + shipping.

Me, I'd use a bit longer bolt, so that there are at least three and a half threads protruding through the nut (SAE standards - Society of Automotive Engineers) and add a flat washer on the top side, and be sure that every component is grade eight. Other than that...I see no problem with that repair.

^^^ This, if they aren't handy for pick-up locally from 928 International. Else follow Colin's advice, using a flanged bolt, with the knowledge that adjusting the tension on that bolt is going to be somewhere between "a real chore" and "impossible to access" during alignment; there's no ready access to the bolt head from underneath where you are adjusting the cams for caster/camber. A bolt is an acceptable interim solution while the right part is on its way.

My vote is the used replacement parts.

Thanks all - I'm going with a replacement from our local supplier.
