However, the way information gets passed around, somewhere someone may say: "I read you can use hatch shocks on the hood....."
They are cheap, just buy new ones.

Yes. Hood lift supports are only $11 at Rock Auto. I got a pair there two years ago and they still work fine.

I got these used shocks and when I removed one of them to compare, they were not the same, even if they came from another 928, I am missing the plastic ball/cap portion at both ends. Can I remove the ones from my old shocks to place them on my other shocks, or they are part of the shock ? See pic
