Car shows and list legends
Yesterday I took my 928 out to meet up with a local car club in Columbia Gorge and we drove some beautiful winding roads and went to a car show at the
Maryhill Museum . There were a few bugs, 911's, and Karmen Ghia's cars at the show - My 928 was not officially in the show but saw quite a bit of intrigue as it was the only one and most people say they haven't seen one in the flesh for a very long time.
After the show, I had lunch with former Rennlist member and 928 Mad Scientist, Louis Ott. He showed me his amazing 928 and told me all about some of his mind blowing modifications. Here are some notable mods he has done to his 91 GT:
- 6.7 liter motor that has been bored out and increased stroke: 944S2 pistons/Valves, custom crank, reground S4 cams. Custom oil breather system and oil pan baffles
- really intriguing intake system using 8 individual throttle bodies, carbon airbag, velocity stacks, alcohol injection for WOT, distributor-less ignition system, and of course high capacity fuel injectors and supply system.
- hand made flared fenders with intake for rear oil cooler.
The list goes on and on... It was really great to meet one of the pioneers in 928 which craft.
I put on about 150 miles on secondary roads. The weather was perfect and this was the first time I was able to do some extended driving in my 928 since I purchased it in summer of 2015. I really enjoyed the car.
Here are some photos for you all to enjoy from the day.

Cool, thanks for posting. That's Louis Ott 928, awesome machine. I've spent years going up and down that river and the Snake doing fish research at the hydropower projects, it's great country.

Great pics~! What kind of stereo is that? Is that a Parrot? do you have pics of the install or a template from the plastic that you installed around it. Nice looking installation.

Wish "The Professor" was still active here. Here's a blast from the past - his dyno runs from the 2009 OCIC.

Unfortunately I didn't snap any picks of the install process. But I can pull off the cover panel pretty easily and take some shots to give you a good idea. It's been a work in progress as I try to get it to look perfect. It's pretty close but I think there is some room for improvement. Stay tuned to a new post in the next few days.

A few years ago I was coming back from Oregon and came upon Otts 928 headed south on I5. I tried to keep up, seeing as he was putting down some pedal. The sound of that mill and sight of those wide hips was real an ultimate sensory treat. I managed about 30 minutes in my truck before I came to my senses and I backed down from 90 to 100.

We bought our '90 GT from Louie, eight years and about 100K miles ago. A terrific guy, and he and Chris have become good friends.
We had a chance to visit this last July when the local PCA group did a tour to Maryhill and rented the road for the day. The Maryhill Loops Road was the first paved road in Washington state, build a hundred years ago (1911) by Sam Hill as an experiment.

"What in the Sam Hill, tarnation is going on around here"
Granted, not to be confused with the infamous Sam Hill that Yosemite Sam was always ranting about...
Great pictures, thanks for taking us along.

Great photos Mike! I went up on Sunday for the hillclimb and saw the GTV6 and then a second one came, but they were both workers or spectators. Would love to connect with Louis Ott sometime. Glad you had a great day. The MaryHill Concours is fun.
