Default Fabricated Rear Side Marker Gasket

Took my rear side markers off, and one of the gaskets is torn (other one is in bad shape as well). Did some searching here, and don't find any threads with gasket alternatives outside of 928 Classics item (site is down, so don't know if still available).

Anyone make one out of foam or gasket material? If so, what did you use?

Thanks!

That MS link is for the Clear Turn's??
I thought Jim at "928 Classic" sells those "Side Marker" gaskets, but haven't purchased any myself yet

I saw references to the gaskets at 928 Classics as well, but their site no longer appears to be operational.

You could try and PM Jim - he has always been responsive in the past.

I talked with Jim about 8 months ago and he referred me to Grainger, IIRC. There is a certain size rubber/silicone "band/gasket" that you can order that works for very little money. Not perfect but does the job. I just don't remember the mm/inch size and thickness but if he catches this thread, I'm sure he'll tell us.

Paul, I don't publicly share proprietary information, especially on a forum of which I'm not a sponsor.
As a courtesy, enthusiast to enthusiast, 928 Classics (classicS, Dave) doesn't have any in stock, with no planned ETA.
Sorry all, time for some grassroots engineering.

I used to use Loctite 454 to glue the ends together.

Occasionally I would get a very mad customer who assumed that he'd get a seamless gasket, and would badmouth me on whatever forum he found me. Eventually, I stopped offering the seals separately - Nobody complained when they were included with the clear side marker unit.

Thanks, Nicole, for that hint. When I chop the S4 I'm going to need to cut and shorten the rubber window seals. I have been seraching for the kind of adhesive to reconnect them with. I'm going to try this.

The seals that I used were foam material, and this glue was recommended for that.

I cant guarantee that this is the right stuff for rubber seals.
