Went to Coffee and Cars at Memorial City. A really nice 930 in what had to be paint to sample metallic white over linen. Then on to the PCA GTG at Paper Co.

I got the wheel off. The center horn pad took quite a pull to get off. No plastic tabs, just press fit springs. The lead for the horn came off easily. One thing I noticed when I searched the wheel removal archive here was to use the anti theft lock of the steering wheel to act as a stop for the wheel travel. The more I read and consistant with prior practice, I put the key in and turned it to unlock the travel. I had my son hold the wheel from the passenger seat, while I pulled the 27mm nut counterclockwise. I have read of damage to the antitheft lock by using it as the resistance. Also I put the rachet on the nine o'clock position so as it lossened it went down. I have read of using the three o'clock and breaking the windshield when the nut freed. I also marked the wheel and stem with a mark to realign it.
All is good and off to Dallas Custom Steering Wheel by UPS.

My steering wheel is done. I received photos from Donald Le at Dallas Custom Steering Wheel. Looks good! My alternator arrived from Precision Motorwerks too.

Sorted out a number of issues the last few months. New alternator, rebuilt AC compressor and two hoses, new power steering hose and few more. Did a first pass at an underhood cleanup. I have a question as you look to the back of car, I am missing one sticker on the left. Could someone please post what that sticker looks like and any ideas where I might find one.

From memory the missing sticker where the condenser is, is the refrigerant one - stating the type of refrigerant and charge qty. Can find a replacement label set on eBay

Thank you, i found them on eBay and ordered a set. The feedback on ebay on the stickers was favorable. I will report back when they arrive.

My front window tint had scratches in it. I tried the black plastic trash bag, windex and ammonia trick. The window tint delaminated, with the clear portion pulling off, leaving the tinted stuck on. Over three hours later with razor blade and heat gun, spotless. I treated the doors and rear spoiler to some Lexol Vinylex treatment. Don at Cars Inc. recommended it on my 1989 Targa top. Good stuff.

Cleaned the grounds in the spare tire wheel wheel. They were dirty. I cleaned the positive and grounds above the CE panel. I took off the upper door, but left in the package shelf. Deoxit on all the contacts. I took out the high amp fuses for the radiator fans, air con, and sunroof and cleaned them one more time. Voltage is now in the mid to low 13's per voltmeter in my Pioneer deck.

My carpet underneath the back hatch had holes in it from the previous owner's amp. I took it to Michael Angelos Auto Trim today. Richard who did my 1989 Targa's seats ordered matching carpet. Should be done this week.

I received my cargo mat back, with batting and Velcro. There was a second mat that looked as if it must have had a space cut for amp or CD player. I cut the mat for the four cargo net hooks. I ordered a cargo net from Roger. Happy how it came out.

Nice!
Were you driving through Cypress this morning? I saw a black S4 but didn't get a look at the driver or the wheels.

That was not me. But my son got to drive it to lunch yesterday for the first time. He has a 2006 Carrera S, so he comented how good the ride was. I live close in to the 610 loop and I have yet to see a single 928 since mine was shipped from California last September. There is a Concours early July at Porsche West, while I won't enter the car, I will probably attend.
