Default 928 S4 MY89 - Radiator Questions

HI, my questions relate to a re-install of my repaired original radiator following a major service involving WP, TB, etc. Noted a couple of thngs when removing the radiator:

1. There was some "foam" material/lining between the radiator end-tanks and the A/C condenser. It has deteriorated over time and heat cycles to the point that much/most has simply disintegrated. I want to reinstall replacement material and would like advice on what to use e.g. similar/same as hood/bonnet lining material (closed cell foam)????

2, Upon removal of the radiator I noticed a rubber strip/lining seemingly sitting along the bottom section of the body where the bottom edge of the radiator would mount. This is a strip of rubber about 1.5 feet long and about 1/4 inch thick. Can't see any reference in PET. Does anyone know what this could possibly be??? Cld it be additional rubber insulation running along the bottom of the radiator???

Thanks in advance

Cheers

1. you can use any closed cell foam for the edges. Just make sure that it stays in between and does not fly away at speed.
2. The foam piece actually sits in a channel on top of the radiator. It is the same channel that has the three prongs to hold the top hose from the top of the radiator to the other side.

Hope this helps.

Hi Bilal,

Thanks for your advice, You are correct. Checked the upper metal bracket that sits above the radiator and discovered the small channel in which this rubber piece sits.

Thanks again.

Cheers
