Default 86 32v Rear Cam Cover Seals? Good DIY and #PN?

I swear I just did several searches before posting this

Reading about the horror of valve cover R&R, it's equally possible the real problem is the cam cover seal at the rear of the heads. There is a leak on the drivers side rear, from the top, which sounds a lot like the cam cover seal leaks other have described. Fortunately, it also sounds like the drivers side rear is not that hard to get to.

Problem is, I can't find a good DIY with pictures or PN# for MY 86 and it sounds like the 16v and 32v are different (see, I have done some homework!)

Bottom line: What do I need to order? Looking at the PET, I'm assuming what I need is just the o-ring (#11) on page 27 (Illustration 103-01)

Is that the piece I need? Do I just get that, or the cover too? Is there anything special besides just and R&R of the lid?

If that is the o-ring, where do I get it? Pelican shows it NLA?

Sorry for the questions but the search escaped me!

Start at post #22 if you don't want to read all the preliminary stuff.

MY 86 shouldn't be different than MY 85.....I don't think.

Get your parts from Roger at 928sRus or 928 International.

On the S3 32v cars the rear cam seal was upgraded to the seal as used on the 87+ cars.
Your 928 supplier will know this and keep you correct. You should also not if the cam covers are held down by allan headed or hex headed bolts as this makes a big difference in the parts that are needed.

Step 1: Call or E-mail Roger at 928s R Us. His info is in the sigline of his post (looks like a business card).

Step 2: Tell him what you are doing. He will likely have a couple of questions (like which type of bolts you have). Answer those questions to the best of your ability.

Step 3: Give him your billing info and shipping address.

A package containing what you need will "magically" appear on your doorstep in a few days.
