Default Rear wiper switch

Somehow, when I took my center console off and then replaced it, I have lost a piece (?) of my switch. I really need a pic to show so I will add one later...but is there an internal part of this switch that can easily fall out? I haven't found anything suspicious, but before I took the console off, this switch worked fine. Now, it doesn't even really push. It just sits there, almost like the fake "switch" plate above it, that does nothing.

I know I'm not describing this clearly...

Yes the switches have a 'flat brass square' piece for each side. Probably less than 1cm square in size.

Is there also a spring behind that?

I was assuming this one was different from the window and sunroof switches, since it's only one-sided, but maybe they're more similar than I thought...

In any case, I haven't seen any mysterious parts on the floor but it's got to be there somewhere...
