Hello all -

Going to look at a car tonight that will be a definite rescue. Will have more details later, but the one pic I have is not that good but CLEARLY has no -S model spoiler on the rear hatch (it may have been removed).

Were there any '81 models built that were not 'S' cars and have no spoiler and/or could have a rear spoiler delete?

Car also has phone dials, which leads me to believe it may not actually be an '81 and be a late '80?

S trim and phone dials were options in 1981.

My '81 has no rear spoiler. but I made a front for it. I almost stuck a rear spoiler on it but am very glad I did not.

Phone dials were standard. The 7 slot rims and spoilers were optional, expensive ones at that.

My 81 never had spoilers thankfully, much less rust to worry about.

Thanks all! I had in my mind that once you hit '81, all were S's. I am going to look at the project on Saturday and will post some pics and get the VIN to run to get the official story.
