Auto roll up power windows
Hi
I have a strange problem with my '90 S4.
The auto roll up power windows when you hold the key works for the sunroof and the passenger window but does not roll up the driver side window. The power window switches work fine. Seems to have just begun doing this.
Thoughts from the brain trust?

Common issue with the under the front left seat control unit - the relays start to fail.
Key in the door or key in the trunk should close all.

They used to all close when you held the key. Now the driver side no longer goes up when you do. Rest work as expected.

The driver side window should roll up last when holding the key in the "lock" position. Likely the issue is with connections at the motor or in the window/mirror control unit under the drive seat. The controller is looking for current rise in each drive motor to sequence the next step in the program. Does the driver window respond correctly to the center console switch?

I'll try the 30 seconds trick and see if that works.
The order of operations on my car was as Tom in Austin said: Sunroof, passenger window then driver window.

I agree with the suggestions - most likely if the manual controls still work correctly - is that it still thinks it's closing the passenger window. It will eventually timeout and move on but normally the opening time is truncated by the current increasing when the motor stalls.
It can be as simple as that the window mechanism has too much friction - its is sensing the change in drive current as the motor stalls - if it is already a high current when moving in normal range it may not detect enough of an increase - it that case it will keep driving up (stalled) until it reaches the programmed maximum timeout. You get the same thing if there is no motor installed at all (or disconnected) - you will just get a 30 second pause (you get this if you enable the sunroof in a non-sunroof car).
You can also try the opposite with auto-down as a test. Click down in sequence on the sunroof, passenger window and drivers window and see what happens...

The order of operation on closing the windows and sunroof when locking the car on mine is:
Passenger window, sunroof and driver window.
And all the same if I lock from the driver's side, passenger's side or from the hach.
