temp gauge question

Default temp gauge question

on my 79 needle is just below second white line.i checked with infrared temp gauge 185 at upper radiator hose a bit cooler at thermostat housing.is that too hot.?

i re read owners manual and it said that temp range is ok in between 2 white lines and can even be ok if under hot conditions it gets close to red,just let it cool down.
also ,bypassing my frozen air pump ,and directly tying in clutch fan has reduced temps.i suspect failing air pump bearing was putting a drag on fan.

so im driving my car without fear of being too hot and really enjoying it
