WTB- 2 good window motors for 87 S4
Is there a good source out there for good used window motors? 1 has crapped out and I would like to have a spare.
Thank you

928 International will have used units that come with a 1 year warranty. 928sRus carries an alternate Mercedes part that is almost identical to the Porsche part. The only thing you have to do to the Merc part is take the two screws that hold the motor case to the drive housing loose and rotate the case 180 degrees to put the electrical plug in the correct position, then tighten the screws down. Be sure the outer glass seals on the door windows are in top shape or your next motor will get wet and fail.

Yes, I tried that. My armature is worn down, in places. The insides of the casing, is crumbling, and actually, the brushes are good. I will include some photos later. I got side tracked, doing other chores around the house( honey do list)

Update: It is the little black box at the end of the motor(thermal resistance fuse) or similar, that is open. All I have to do is open it up and fix it(yikes!!)

Both window motors fixed!!
The passenger side had the thermal fuse tripped inside. Repaired. The driver side, I just removed the connector, cleaned the corrosion, and replaced it, and it started working again. Thanks to all the great write ups out there. They really came in handy.

Did you have trouble getting the worm gear back into the regulator housing? I cannot seem to get them to mate. I'm afraid to push too hard and strip the plastic gear... does anyone know the "trick?"
