LOL...news to me!
All I remember was talking to an attendee and telling him about how well ALL the years of the 928 ran from 78 to 95...even told him about eh time I drove Jim's car, when all of a sudden Jim showed up. Jim tossed him the keys and said check it out. The guy left with a big smile on his face and that was the last I knew of anything.
Great addition to the news of the weekend!
I personally would like to thank everyone who attended Sharktoberfest. I don't know if we will ever have a true accounting of cars since many showed after others left before the end of the day. Also we had new attendee's on Sunday that were not able to make the previous day.
I had many folks come up to me and express their appreciation for what they had learned from Saturday's tech session. They were very comprehensive and a lot of great questions were asked and answered. The BUZZ of this event was definately felt in the air this weekend.
It was great to meet some new faces in the community and several familiar ones as well. Thank you to all who came up and introduced themselves. I apologize (and I expect I speak for others who helped put this event on) if I was not able to spend extended time speaking with you.
Sunday was certainly a day of fun as well...driving the 928. Latigo Canyon is one of my favorites and I thoroughly enjoyed having Mark Anderson ride my bumperettes through those aggressive twisties in his new "thing" Cruising along the Malibu coast on a bright sunny day and parking along the Pacific Ocean and having some fantastic food in what looked like a nice garage at Gladstones, was just about heaven. The Peterson Automotive Museum is always a treat and we expect to be back there again in the future.
I couldn't be more proud of what this weekend turned out to be. We at SOCAL have worked hard over the years to make this region one to be reckoned with. When John Veninger approached me last May to do a regional tech session, it seemed the foundrs of SOCAL were too busy to even respond at that point. We kicked the idea around briefly and thought to just do a small event that did not conflict with any other events in the community. July rolled around and John asked me if this was still something we wanted to do since the issue went dead for 2 months. I got hold of Dan to discuss and with no request of any of us, he took this thing and went beyond the call of duty turning this 1 day local tech session into a major national event. I can't even tell you how much effort Dan had put into this to make it what it had become. Due to work issues, the rest of us were not able to help as much as we had liked. It didn't seem to affect Dan much since he put this together at light speed and didn't miss a thing. we were happy to help him in any way we could. Suffice it to day, ths would not have happened without Dan Bise.
Mark Anderson had generously offered his facilities and services to me/us on several occasions over the years and he certainly came through with his word. Without 928 International, this event would not have been close to what it was.
There are so many people to thank when one does an event like this, but I am going to try.
Thank you to:
Mark, Jim, Tom and Mark's Family at 928 International
John Veninger POC
Greg Brown and his assistant surgeon George (?) Precision Motorwerks
Scott Hendry from Scott's Independent
Tommy Estridge of SOCAL 928 (who by the way, brought more greatness to this event with door prizes from sponsers than you can imagine!)
Jennifer Pasquini, Betsy Andrade, Teri Knebel ( These women took hold of the ever important registration table and did a FABULOUS job!)
My fellow SOCAL928 founders Bob Fuelleman, Mike Denhke, Tommy Estridge and Dan Bise.
But of course I have to say Thank You Dan Bise for embedding us deeper in the 928 community!!! It's going to be very tough to top what you have accomplished...now go get some sleep!

The event was wonderful! Hope the rent-a-car company doesn't look to closely at the tires on that Impala! It's a lot of work to keep up with 928's in the mountains!
Dan, the SoCal guys and 928Intl put together a first class event

A friend of mine said he saw you guys on your fun run in Latigo.
He was in the 550 Spyder replica.
He says a few of you waved!
I wish I was not stuck at work that weekend!
