The numbers didn't break down evenly by year. One of the real "Detail hounds" has figured that there were only 40-50 86 Euros brought into the US.
Which is a real shame, because all 86 Euros had the "86.5" features (brakes, suspension, ect).
The level and quality of conversion to "federally approved" status varied a lot as well.
I have an 85 Euro, and the H4 lights were left in place, but US parking/fog lights replaced the Euro parking-fog combo/driving lights. Oddly enough, the wiring was left in place and the fog light switch did nothing, while the fog lights themselves lit up when the high beams were turned on (as the driving lights were supposed to do). And there are genuine Porsche corner lights installed into cutouts in the fenders.
