Default Update to TBfed motor and a question

Good morning,
87 S4 auto

On the road and driving well. good acceleration but feels a bit sluggish/rich. Still spins tires for a good distance if desired. Handling seems good.

Oil pressure 5 bar on initial start for a short time, then at about 2 bar at idle (1100). Fluctuations seem appropriate for rpm increase during driving.

Coolant flowing with IR temps 195 at rad inlet (pass side of car), 185 at outlet. This is with both fans running and a higher idle after a speed run (110).

Clear warning lights for first few minutes. Then overheat, anti-lock and tail lights.

Issues:
* A small drip from oil sender.
* Coolant gauge not working.
* Overheat light on temp gauge. ( Always on)
* Hot air in cabin vents.
* Anti-lock light (always on)
* Tail lights
* Small leak at LF brake line.
* Pass window no workie

Parts on the way;
* Temp II sensor. I fried the other one with improper connection. Currently disconnected along with vapor canister solenoid. I swapped these by accident and fried the connector and sensor. very interesting smoke presentation with heart palpitations..
Is it possible that this will solve my high idle? Or, am I looking for vac leak or ICV? idle is stable...just high. no wondering.

* Engine temp- I believe this is junk because after testing both wires, one sends the overheat light and the other pegs the gauge.
Does this sound correct?

* oil sender gasket
* New brake lines

I haven't charged the A/C yet, and I have a new heater valve. I need to verify that is it working as advertised.

I think I have bad control head vacuum, because I only have variations between defrost vents and all others, when slider is activated. Not too worried about this until after I get system charged by a professional.

Cant wait to get the temp gauge working, driving with an IR gun in my pocket is getting old.

Thanks for all input..

John

Ducman,
You nailed it!
Temp is right in the middle.
Thanks
