I have read the posts about this guy in STL and am justifiably wary, but this looks like it's in pretty nice shape and he claims the 60k service was done. Is it asking too much of a dealer to fax me the service record before I put an offer on a car? One more thing. I ran a Carfax report and saw that it was stolen twice within about a month... Does anyone out there know about this car or care to offer an opinion?

Nice color combination, but can see a few things that look wrong......
Drivers side mirror hanging down much too low.
Drivers seat switch surround doesn't look to be screwed down.
Just some little things, but i would really look into the "stolen" thing......people who steal cars are not usually nice to them......

Other than a few minor things, looks pretty damn clean.
I'd personally never purchase a car from Ebay though. Some lengthly horror stories in the lastest local Porsche club magazine regading Ebay.

Check out the hood of this Viper they are selling. I know how this hood opens, the entire front pops up a few inches and forward to make room for the clam shel to swing forward. How in the hell are the sides that far up and the front is latched? Seams fishy:

I lurk here from time to time because I wouldn't find putting a 928 in the driveway in the next few years.
The hood doesn't look like it lines up right. The front bumper color looks lighter than the left front fender, and there looks like a piece is missing on the little airscoop on the right side by the rubber chin spoiler.
Does a car get a salvage title if it is a theft recovery?
There have been nicer looking 928s for sale on the rennlist classifieds than this car.

I have the factory 21mm spacers on my car with the stock 7" wheels. With the spacers in place the 8" wheels were too close to the fender. With the spacers removed the wheel studs are too long for the stock lug nuts. Doesn't bother me as I use them as track wheels and put on the steel open lugs. There are extra tall stock-looking lugs available at like $10 a piece.

Damn, you guys are good. Thanks for all your help -- I won't be getting that one. I think I found the one I want; the link is below and it looks very well taken care of. I spoke with he owner and he seems very straight forward and has all service history. From the ones I've seen it looks like a good deal. Comments?
Again, I appreciate everyone's input. Hopefully I'll be driving one soon!
