Default Thanks to so many for the help with the TBFed Motor

A bit of an update..a little early but I had some time tonight.

Drove the car about 5-6 miles tonight.
No leaks, no loud bangs and no flames.

During thte build I did the following work.
* Rebuilt all fuel lines again with steel band crimp clamps
* MM
* OPG
* Steering rack rebuild
* Steering pump repack
* Compressor rebuild
* TB/WP
* Intake Refresh
* Cam Pads and chains
* T/T bearings and dampener rebuild
* Manufactured a new engine harness
* Rebuilt/ repaired the injector harness. All new connectors.
* Rebuilt all new hoses and lines
* suspension bushings
* Flushed/rebuilt injectors
* Repack and safety wired half shafts
* repack oil pump
* All new oil seals front and back
* New plug wires
* newer crank gear
* newer Oil pump gear
* New cam gears
* Rebuilt and flushed all A/C components.
* All new Vac lines
* Pressure washed undercarriage and repainted
* new tie rods

Anyway, a lot of work got done and hopefully I can get 6 months out of the engine. If and when it fails I expect that this whole process would have been a great deal of help for the next motor, and maybe to some others reading here.

Many disagree with putting the effort into a TBFed motor. I disagree. It has been an exceptional learning experience and therapy all in one. I have less of a concern since I believe that the damage was done to this motor well before I got it. when I bought it, I released the tension and it hadn't moved since. No metal contamination in oil or filters. So we will see..
This hunk of aluminum may live a little longer than expected.

A couple minor issues to deal with..I will most likely post issues separately seeking advice if I cant find it in the WSW or search.

* Windows inop
* Moon roof inop
* Fried Temp II sensor ( I connected the wrong connector to it)
* No indication for water temp..also shows over-heat.
* Idles a bit high (but still don't have all sensors connected or air box on.
* leaking brake line
* Anti Lock illuminated.
* Low coolant light

All in all I am pleased.

Cant begin to list all those that helped..
Thanks again..
John

Hi John !
That's an AMAZING job ! ! ! Wow !
Two questions, please?
1) Could you please share any details of the car sliding off the lift? I'm a huge chicken when it comes to working under my car, and I'd like any insights on this.... Did it happen as you were lowering it down?
2) Could you please tell me what this shiny stuff is? Insulation?

Thanks in advance, Dan

Sure Dan.
Totally operator error.
It had started to rain and I was pulling the car in. It had only been started 3 times prior. I didn't wait for my wife to guide me in and I was crooked. Half of the tire was over the side. I tried to straiten up and when I turned the wheel is slipped. The lift is the best thing I ever bought!

The silver is insulating blanket and some aluminum tape.
My heat blanket was in great shape except for the silver foil. In most places I scrubbed the blanket clean and just replaced the foil with aluminum tape. Working from the bottom up so their wouldn't be any water infiltration at the seems. I found an aluminized shield blanket for a great price. But, by the time it came from China (a month) I was too far along.
