The "X" on the windshield of the 928 looks like a signal to me ... maybe "X" marks the spot? Perhaps, "Xross the Line and Now It Is Mine"? Or, on the other hand, "X" means a vehicle with no owner claiming and to be towed to the firing range to be used as a target for a 20mm Chain Gun. Probably a 3 second burst times 5 and it will be ready for e-Bay.
Our oldest son told us when he got home that there were incredible numbers of expensive cars in Iraq at the palaces. His unit (40th Engineers) lived in a palace with gold toilet seats -- not just gold painted ones either, soldi gold. He said that the CID agents came in after a couple of days investigating some guy who tried to mail one back to the states, evidently not knowing that it was over the weight limit for the APO. The Finance Corps officers had them pull out all the seats and bag them. They are now most likely in the Warehouse along with the Ark of the Covenant and the Roswell Space Ship.
Ah the spoils of war ... except that war just spoils everything.
Cheers,
Dave

I always felt the 928... already a heavy sports car with a Big V-8 would be excellent to modify James Bond Style. It really has lots of room in places. Just imagine all the goodies that would fit in the hatch back area.
