Default Transmission leak

Hi gang,

Two issues:

87S4 with 145k on clock with a leaky transmission. The passenger side of the tranny is getting the blowback. I changed the filter, gasket and reservoir a couple of years ago. I haven't dropped the exhaust yet to check but are there rubber lines that connect to the hard lines that take the fluid to the front? Can they be changed without dropping the tranny?

2nd issue:

I changed the coolant level sensor last week & yesterday I was loosing coolant. Seemed to be coming from bottom of reservoir. How many lines are connected to the bottom of the reservoir and is it feasible to think they came loose or cracked when I rotated the reservoir to change the sensor?

Yes there are two rubber to metal lines up front and two in the back, be carful about Trans fluid leaks on Hot exhaust parts as it is Flammable and has been known to cause a few 928's to burn to the ground.

The usual parts that leak (mostly if left sitting) is the Filler Cap seal, and the Pan to Reservoir metal to plastic pipe, there is an 'O' ring that should be replaced when doing the pan gasket.
Bowden cable 'O' ring can also be a leak source.
You should not need to drop the trans to replace the lines but you will need to remove exhaust and heat shields.

Thanks devek9. I definitely haven't left it sitting. I think it must be the rubber to metal lines in the back. I changed the O rings on cap (I changed the entire reservoir) and metal to plastic pipe when I did the gasket.
