Me too! Amazon Fire Stick all the way! Funny enough I have wheeler dealers playing in the background while I work in the garage. I have actually learned quite a bit from Mr. China

Love Wheeler Dealers. Easiest way to tell how old the episode is: how grey is Ed's hair and how many chins does Mike have. Mike also had a show helping used car buyers in the EU find what they want.

But you gotta love Ed. Quality work done for apparently no payment.

I still haven't caught the full episode where to redo the 928, I have only get bits and pieces when it's on replay. Haven't seen the episode yet that spurred this thread.
it is on you tube or at least it was as I watched it there

They seriously violated an AMC Pacer in a California episode last year. Lost a lot of money on it, too. I almost felt sorry for the car. Its PO was an interesting counterpoint to Mike, a stereotypical Left Coast sort of woman.

I agree that the best shows are those that do not manufacture a lot of conflict or impose an artificial deadline to substitute for more solid content. WD is especially good for amateurs like me. It seems especially realistic about the uncertainties in buying a classic, and in choosing what to fix, and how.

If you watch Barrett-Jackson sell any of the charity cars....after it sells they ask for "donations" typically a few bidders raise their card and give $10,000 for which they get a few seconds on camera. When a car show sells on camera often the "value" may be factoring in the fact that the buyer ,wife, family are going to get camera time which to some has great value
The same thing can happen on buying the car, the seller gets on T V !! Bottom line there is no "reality" in most of it.... showing up to look at a car with a celebrity or two and a crew of 20-25 people makes that pretty much impossible Waivers are signed (no point filming if they will not agree to be on camera), location agreements(rent ), local filming permits obtained , the people are all wired for sound before the cameras roll.... So the knock on the door and the seller is "surprised" !!

Last 912E I bought minus engine years ago I sold for export to New Zealand

Bought one while on vacation in Hawaii ... Sold it before it arrived to the mainland .. Had plenty of buyers wanting to buy it in the US, the guy who bought it packaged it with a identical color 912E and sold and shipped them off to a german buyer.

It was the first Porsche I ever owned at the age of 19. I saved every dollar from my construction job (worked for my family's company) and my Dad cut me zero breaks.... I am pretty sure I was being paid below minimum wage and it took me a full year to save the $6K entry price.

That car was a "No Go" showboat back in the day. Unless a 912E has nitrous or something, it's better to not try to do anything other than roll down the road.

The AC was aweful and sucked every ounce of HP out of the engine.

But I LOVED IT!
