Intermittent No Start
Every once in a while (doesn't seem to matter whether the engine is hot or cold) my car won't start. It turns over but doesn't fire. I have always been able to get it going after waiting a while and turning the key on and off a few times. This seems to happen once every week or two. I have replaced Relay XX (the fuel pump relay) and Relay XVI (ignition relay). I have removed and cleaned posts on fuse #42 (fuel pump). The fuel pump is approximately 6 months old. I have not yet replaced relay XXV (LH-Jetronic). Does this sound like an intermittent LH Controller or Fuel Injection Brain? Can relay XXV cause this problem? Any suggestions?

Hi Don,
The brains for your car are pretty rugged and don't fail intermittently.
If the car fails to start for long enough, go through the usual checks.
When cranking, can someone hear the fuel pump buzz ?
Ditto, is there spark ?
Yes the relay failure can cause no start. It powers the injectors and other itmes.

It's the cold weather! Mine always starts acting exactly like that when it gets cold" Just kidding (sorta...) (as you know)
Aside from the relays and fuses, consider looking at the Temp 2 sensor. I have a perfectly good new one if you want to try swapping it. - Ruf
