Windshield developed a gigantic crack after ice storm late spring. Called my insurance company(Geico) to learn that I do not have glass coverage. I can't recall ever not having glass coverage but...
Anyways, I need to source a new windshield. Any recommendations on where to begin? I have a skilled installer I can use or would I just be better off calling someone like Safelite?
Thanks

When I needed my windshield replaced, I had insurance coverage and used their recommended supplier. I think it was Safelite. It took them a week to get the windshield, but the install itself was uneventful.

Thanks Tom! I called a few glass shops in my area and nobody had the proper windshield and they really weren't interested in finding one.
I went with company you mentioned. They had one in stock in a warehouse 15 minutes away. Going to pick it up shortly for $242.00. Richard at Prosource was very helpful and explained there were two aftermarket options: FYG - China and Pilkington - England. He highly recommended FYG. Pilkington product was over $600.
I found an installer for $150 which seems high considering I already have the cowl cover off and side moldings removed. I'm getting additional quotes.

I have the China glass in mine... Its easily sourced, quality seems more than decent to me. I had to lose the in glass antenna, but that didn't bother me any.
My local glass shop had the windshield delivered and installed for around $300. I removed all the trim myself though.
