Laying it in the sun for a while softens it up. The part where you have to get the studs into the side of the wheelwell, while at the same time getting the tab around the back of the wheelwell is challenging. Having it warm and soft makes this part easier (not easy, just easier).
Make sure you save all the hardware. The washers that go over the studs down along the bottom of the front fender are cut off so that they fit (hole is very close to bottom edge). You can make your own if you need to, but it's better not to need to.
Another pair of hands helps. It helps even more if they are attached to a brain that has done this before.
