Default Condenser fan observations

From seeing everyone's pictures, I suspect I may have an older-style fan on my car. Mine is the variety with no "cage" and (I think) fewer blades. All of the S3 pics I've seen have more blades (again, I think...I didn't count them) and a cage or fan grill around it.

Do I have an older-style fan? Should I care? It works...I'm not worrying about keeping everything original...however if there is a significant improvement in efficiency, I might consider going to the newer style.

Mine looks like this, with five or six blades (I always forget to count when I'm out there lol):

I was reminded of this because it looks exactly like the one on #107, in the Minerva resto thread.

A very old pic, right after I got the car and before I realized it was missing it's grill.

From memory, there are three fans...at least.

The original has like 12 thin blades. Then came the 5-blade and then the 5-blade with a cage.

The thin blades probably move the most air but are more prone to being broken by road debris. Otherwise, they're all about the same.

Thanks for the info. From other folks' pictures, I'm guessing I should have the one with the cage, but I won't worry about it unless something happens to this one.
