Default New addition to family (and intro to 928 forum)

So, after much research and contemplating over and over what new toy I wanted to purchase, I settled on this black beauty from one of our own RL members. After some back and forth over the span of nearly two months, I finally flew up to Omaha, kicked the tires, test drove it, and shook a hand at the end of some back and forth on price. 14hrs later, I was back home with my new toy.

1989 928S4, black on black, maintenance records, updated seats, clean interior, freshly leathered dash, etc... the list is long. Here is the original listing on RL...
https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...-or-trade.html

As always, there's always some work to be done: new tires, brakes, rear suspension, and some minor touches here and there. Recommendations are highly appreciated.

ThX in advance and wish me luck!

That is a very, very nice ride with great upgrades. imho, even if you paid the asking price, it would have been a good deal. As for recommendations, I didn't see it in the original thread or yours, but is the TB/WP up to date and has the thrust bearing been checked lately? If not, I'd add it to the list. If it has, gas it up and hit the road.

Edit: Nevermind about the tb/wp... just saw it in his paragraph text, not in the bullets below it. Again, nice ride.

Congratulations and beautiful ride. Did we win over a 993 owner?

Absolutely beautiful ! Congrats.

What width are the rear tires? 295? Wider? They look huge.

Nice car, I like the way the seats look. Do you know if they are from a 996 or a 997?

Spot on! 295/30zr18. They need to be replaced so I'm contemplating going down to 17s. I happen to have a spare set of Cup 2 wheels that would look proper on the car but it'll be hard to lose the look of the twists.
