I believe they can be washed, however many different types out there.
Whatever you do DON'T put them in a dryer !!!
Melted some holes in one of mine most have instructions w/ them, like do not place in dryer ; )
Depending on how much tree sap, may want to deal w/ that first before washing

Mine's not a Porsche cover, but I've wondered the same thing. It's too bulky for a home washer and I'm also wondering if it has something like Scotchguard in it and if washing it would wash it away. I may hang it up on a line and take a pressure washer to it this summer.

And there are hand pump sprayers for re-scotchgarding available.

Mine says to wash it on the car. The BIG CAVEAT is that you should not let it dry on the car sitting in the sun. I'm not a big fan of leaving the car wet even in the shade/garage, but that's a personal thing; some folks actually drive their cars in the rain, I hear. Mine has been driven in the rain a few times since I've been the caretaker, admitted only under duress. Seriously though, that's the proscribed method per the cover vendor (Covercraft).
It's almost time for my winter-spring project cycle to wind down, so the cover will come off my hibernating car around the beginning of May. It's been sleeping with the cover on it since early November, plus I added a couple layers of mover's pads on parts of the car for added protection. Will be interesting to see if there's a significant difference in cover cleanliness in the padded vs un-padded areas. Regardless, the cover will be washed on the car, and strung up on garage "clotheslines" or maybe just draped over the roof of the Pilot DD to dry before it's redeployed. Car will get a spring clean and detail at the same time, so it's all good.
