hey guys im having an issue with my 84 928, when i had first purchased the car a mechanic had recently changed the fuse panel which thus resulted in the security system shutting the car down. i was able to fix it and the car actually runs and drives very well, but i have not touched the car in a month or so and am having the same issue. i hate to admit it but i have completely forgotten what i had done to reset the security to make the car run again. any help would be very much appreciated. i need to have the car back and running before the end of this month, because i plan on giving it to my dad on fathers day.

turn off the alarm using the long key....on the doors or rear hatch....or simply bypass the alarm using jumper or bridge on the central electric board.....

Your relay for the alarm system is Relay 4. I've attached an image to corroborate for you. The usual jumpering is from pins 30 to 87 to power a device/accessory. I'm not sure if the security system is based on grounded switches so I don't want to misinform you. Hoping someone will chime in to confirm this bypassing at the relay for you. Also attached link to Wiring Diagrams and Workshop Manuals online for you.
