Static testing is now complete and we are now working on completing the design for the first product sample for full “live” testing.

I expect to be in receipt of this by the end of March. Very exciting developments.....

Appreciate the update!

Sneak picture of the full prototype manifold mentioned earlier.

Getting close to fitting and on car testing. Been held up in part by checking various things on the engine which would appear to underpowered given the modifications. Hopefully I can conclude this phase shortly and move on to manifold testing.

Did you get the flywheel/timing issue resolved?

Can you post more pics of the intake?

Glad to see the project moving forward!

We are also reusing the original porsche MAF to TB rubber boot which realistically limits butterfly size. 86mm is the butterfly size and 90mm is the TB inlet size. We actually have to fit a reducer to get back down to the porsche part size

The objective here is to have this manifold be as close as possible to a direct replacement using existing Porsche parts. This includes the original MAF, ISV, fuel rails, injectors and rubber tubing.

The flywheel timing issue was a red herring as after re-checking with another flywheel and timing light it checked out ok.

The phasing of the cams has also checked out ok so getting a bit stuck. I will plan to dyno again on a different set of rollers to get a control check.

I will get some more pictures when I get more advanced with assembly. Should be next week with the TB fitted.

It is extremely difficult to beat the stock S4 intake manifold (especially if flow-bench ported with the heads) for a 5.0L street car within those constraints. Hope it works.

The first thing people typically give up on is the stock oil filler neck, which gives a lot more room in the front. The second thing is the stock MAF.

The oil filler neck makes things very tight but I wanted to keep it as long as we could design around it - which we did. I wanted a high flowing, equal length runners, single plenum design using the standard MAF, although it would be possible to produce a version doing away with the MAF. I don’t see the standard MAF as a issue for a street engine.

Our design basically follows the design most manufacturers use for V8’s including Porsche with the biggest challenge being making one fit in situ for a 928 which is a very significant hurdle due to the space available. It is not possible to produce a version of this from tubing as the tolerances are just to tight and the design too complex, that is basically why nobody has produced a product based replacement in any kind of volume-it’s just so difficult without changing 10 other things along the way.

I can’t wait to test it soon.
