Bump for help / input. I don't get much time to work on the cars these days, so any help is appreciated. I found an old forum for sale post by Iceman, who stated that the vacuum advance pods are prone to failure? That ring a bell with anyone? Also, the numbers on the distributor cross to a euro model, from what I found...mine is not a euro.....any ideas?

I put a piece of vacuum hose on the rear port, which I am assuming is the "retard" port. When I blow in, I get resistance, but when I suck (no jokes), the actuator moves and holds until I release. When I do the same on the outer port, which I assume is the "advance" , I get resistance both ways, and the actuator will not budge....I am thinking the VA pod is borked. There is no part number on it anywhere....

Confirmed failed vacuum advance pod with my mighty vac. Does not budge at all on vacuum side, just barely moves at all with vacuum on the retard side.

Got one coming from 928I.

I hope that is all it was, but I am skeptical that something so small and seemingly insignificant can cause the car to crap out. We will see, but at least I know this part is definitely bad.
