Local tires stores here in the OKC area do the same thing, fix flats and leaks free. They don't even care where you bought or had your tires installed.

Last time they fixed a slow leak for me he unmounted the tire, sanded the rim smoother where the bead seals and coated with only enough gook to make sure the tire seals and not make a mess. Told me to bring it back if it doesn't take. Tipped the guy that did the work $20 to get a good dinner someplace. Hasn't leaked since.

Haa haa, i think you meant goo, maybe? An extra "k" will get you in trouble in some "sensitive" circles.

Midwest has the most friendliest people I feel after living multiple places in the US. Not surprised by good old American businesses still operating like that there. My wife and I miss Iowa very much.

The last one is also a racial slur, under the right circumstances. (rhyming with "kook")
But not in the context used.

Some places will do this sort of thing as a "goodwill gesture", encouraging you to come back and spend money next time. There used to be a "$1.00 flat repair" around here. You had to drop off the tire and rim, they would get to it when they had time (it would be no more than a day). The freely admitted it was to keep busy and generate new customers. It worked for me, I bought a set of tires from them.

At our tire shops they seem to have a person that does nothing but fix people's flats. Didn't have to take wheel off car, but they tell you it may take a little longer to get to it when they get lift space. They have always gotten right to me so only had to wait no more than 20 minutes.

Yes Americas Tire /Discount Tire does it for free....they are looking for holes in the sidewall , tire worn into the wear bars all reasons to make it unfixable !!! Just good for business overall.

Putting a plug into a tire is a very questionable practice.....not something to do on any performance tire. You can buy the kit at most auto parts stores and it usually will hold air. Just the feeling of running the rattail file they provide into the tire and cutting the cords to make the hole round and big enough for the plug tells you it is WRONG
