Bought some Deoxit like suggested and pulled fuse panel loose, sprayed and wiggled fuses, ecu connectors etc. I'm wondering what this length of cable is that was tucked to the side of the panel.

spare looks original, later S4 came with the red spare.

The wire you found is a computer coding plug, see the WSM for more info about different codes.

The Deoxit you have a is a good cleaner,
the more potent Deoxit is D100 ,
best used after the spray from the D5.

It's been 3 months since my last post and I'm coming to the realization that I just have too much on my plate. I have barely touched the car in 3 months with the exception of installing new plugs and adding some R12 freon only to see the compressor is not compressing. The car is cool but deserves a more dedicated owner than I will ever be. I would like to get Rennlist opinions on what it is worth, then decide to sell or hold. If I sell I will offer it here first. This is a great site with a ton of helpful people. I own www.yenko.net and we have our own forums for American Supercar type cars with what I would like to think is a equally helpful bunch of guys on our forum when it comes to American Musclecars.
The car runs good but has what apparently is all too common in the 1-2 synchro in the trans is bad. I evacuated the ac system and it holds vacumn but after adding freon it does not build up pressure on high or pull down on low side.
Car appears to have been repainted at some point but no sign of any accident. Was a dent in front fender that the Grandson said he thought was done by Grandpa falling against it. I had a paintless dent guy pop it out but it still looks like crap. Alarm works as it went off on me the other day as I was pushing buttons and I have no idea how I got it to turn off. Car will not start when alarm is going off.
Car is titled to me in Ca. but I have not smogged or registered it. I'm confident it will smog and can smog it if buyer is from Ca. I'll add some current pics.
Thoughts ?

I guess I will jump in since no one has.

Repainted car with some body work required, possible front fender replacement needed.

Probably needs AC system refresh.

Troublesome alarm without a solution yet.

Nice 5 spd but needs work.

Original tools and radio.

For me, who is always looking for another 928, I would say $7500-8000.

Alarm is fine I just have not read the owners manual. If you look back thru the thread it is a 60K mile 310 hp 5 speed Euro Model 3 owner car.

Is the fuel system definitely sorted at this point?

As a car that can be registered in California it's definitely worth some premium to the right buyer, but the cosmetic issues will weigh down the price a fair bit vs a turnkey car. Could see this bringing mid to high teens but you may need to be patient or take your chances on an auction on BaT to get it.

Yes, read through the entire thread, since you bought it in march, then again when you asked the community to assess your car.

Your car is worth 7500-8000 to me with the known issues. When you stated in your own words that you didn't know how to deactivate the alarm, I can only assume it's not so simple as reading the manual.

There is an '85 auto with original paint and interior, but it does not have the original radio. No dents. It has been on sale for $9000 without any takers for 4-6 weeks.

The '84 euro 5 spd from California has been on craigslist for months without any takers at 18k.

I like yours more, fwiw.
Hoi
