That would be the absolutely perfect time to do the machining Dave.
(after the wheels are etched like that, and before the re-anodizing).
You would only need to program one cut once, then use that repeatedly.
Labor to re-index the wheel seven times to move each of the slots into place.
Then of course, 21 more times to complete the other three wheels...
I've always loved the look of the Club Sport wheels.

Many colours would NOT look right on the wheels, but IMHO white works well.

Many USA dealers had the S wheels chrome plated because many buyers could not understand the matt dull finish....Porsche was never happy about the chroming

Default refinishing manhole covers

My original 83 forged dishes are numbered 92836102105, and on the back face are absolutely plain, no sign of the markings shown on the pic above. Bugger, I would love to have an easy way to cut the spare set into CS pattern! Spare set cost me all of $100 a few years ago.

Gibbs (http://www.gibbsbrandlubricant.com/) is the only product I trust on my anodized wheels.

I think there were more than one version of the 7" forged slotted wheels. The OE wheels on my car do not have the "provisions" that would allow converting to club sports. However, I picked up a spare NOS wheel from a local Porsche dealer which does have such "provisions".

First 3 photos are the my OE wheels, followed by 4 of the NOS wheel.
