+1 on Dave and Hoi. I use a Weathershield HD combined with a soft flannel underneath if my car has to be outside or when I'm at work. For a few years I was using just the Weathershield HD at work, but noticed a little abrasion in the paint at the corners of the rear bumper cover, possibly from extended wind. The combination of the Weathershield + Soft Flannel seems to be a winner.

One thing to be very careful of is putting a cover on a dusty car. Even if the car looks clean it can have a lot of dust on it. It's the dust that gets trapped between the cover and the paint that leads quickly to paint damage. Think sand paper. Further, putting a clean cover on a dusty car will transfer dust to the cover.
I never put a cover on a car that hasn't been cleaned. When a customer car arrives even if it looks spotless I will do a complete wipe-down with microfibre cloths and a quick detail spray before putting on a cover. (If it's too dirty for quick detail it doesn't get covered.)
I do the same thing before putting service covers on the fenders. Keeps my covers clean and minimizes the possibility of damage to the fenders.

You're kinda screwed. You can string a stout cloths line.
go to harbor freight and buy a frame shelter. I don't like car covers outside. If you park it on either grass or permeable gravel your car will rust twice as fast as it would uncovered. I don't cover mine for winter (pole barn with moisture barrier floor) storage either. Whatever little dust it may accumulate in four months is not important.
