Motronic Editor v2.2
#16
Question for the collective, is the Motronic Editor still supported? I ask because the application responds with the message “Registration Data Invalid or Expired”.
If no longer supported could someone recommend an alternative application to extract the fuel and ignition maps from a Motronic 2.1 ECU.

Hey MXK, I am an IT Consultant and my Business Insurance company told me that they would not cover me as long as I was selling modification software for automobiles. yeah, whatever. So anyway, I've taken down any references to it from my website and am not actively selling licenses for it anymore. For the curious, I'm willing to create additional trial licenses but its year end, and I'm busy af trying to get my clients all happy. Contact me via PM in January, I'll fire up my compiler and generate a reg key for you.
This software works well for 911 Motronics, unfortunately most of the water cooled pcars of the era had additional maps that I was never able to identify, and most BMWs had proprietary checksums stored which prevented "tampering" so I ran out of energy and resources before I ever took this project as far as I had initially intended. There are some useful tools built in which allow you to do some targeted map searches, and the professional version allows you to modify the X and Y intervals as well. I wrote this like 20 years ago and have great memories of the people I worked with on the Pelican forums to make this software a reality. Steve Wong of 911chips.com is one of those people, and his expertise convinced me to use his chips instead of rolling my own. If you are looking for a chip for a specific 911 setup, he's the guy I use.
Anyway, get back to me in 2020, and I'll see what I can do about hooking you up with a trial version of the editor. --Marc

I've had a couple of requests for a new demo registration file, unfortunately I've been really busy this year between Porsche projects and my day job. Please find the file attached.
Unzip, copy the .ini file into your program folder and start the program from a run dialog (Win-R) or from a command line with a "/r" switch to force it to register. ie
"c:\Program Files (x86)\Atlantis\Motronic\MotronicEditorV2.exe" /r
Next time I fire up my old 32-bit development vm I'll see what I can do about removing the time limitation or at least extending it. --Marc
