S4 RMB DIY
I bought two 2.5 OD - 2.25 OD exhaust reducers and cut them at the edge of where the transition is the largest. I used a tailpipe cutter available at my local parts store on their loan a tool program.
Next I went to an exhaust shop. Got one straight piece of 2.5" pipe 2' long and a second piece 3' long. I got them to bend the 3' piece at the 26" mark to match the angle of the bend on the factory muffler. I held the bent piece under the car, marked the pipe and cut the excess off. Then I fit my two flares into the pipes and tack welded them in with a mig welder.
I confirmed the fit and then marked the tailpipe ends to be cut off. I made them a few inches shorter because I added slip on chrome tips. After that I finish welded the flares and clamped the pipes into position.
For the hangers I took 12 GA. 3/4" stock, cut two pieces (13" and 10.5") and drilled each end to fit the hanger bolt. Using two pairs of pliers I put a 90 deg twist just below the bolt hole. I loosely tightened it to the hanger and bent the lower side to fit under both pipes. I braced it into position and spot welded it to each pipe. My upside down mig welding left a bit to be desired on neatness but it worked.
After that I made some final adjustments, tightened all the clamps and hangers fully and fitted the chrome tips. I added a spot of silver paint on my hanger welds to help with rust.
All in all, took me about three hours and cost me $83 cdn in materials.
Now I just need the snow to melt so I can go out and wake the neighbors!

It's too loud on the highway so a GT rear muffler that will be going on in the spring, hopefully the perfect mix, it's just too bad about the added 25lbs of the GT muffler.
I ran it with the S4 rear muffler instead of the RMB and it was too quiet.
