Chip replacement question
87s4 and I just replaced what I thought was the factory EZK chip with the porken chip. What it turned out to be was an Authority chip in the EZK that I replaced. PO told me he had Indy shop put stock chip back in. I guess that's why my gas mileage sucked. I noticed two stock chips in the container I thought held the authority chips. Question; do authority chips normally go in EZK & LH? If so, I need to open the LH and see if an authority chip is in there. Is the LH just as simple as changing the chip in the EZK?

Yes the Autothority chips were installed as a pair, normally. And yes to the crappy gas mileage they yield. I have not replaced an LH chip myself, but from what I have been told it is basically the same drill as replacing the EZK chip. The problem is that the LH case is held together by metal "bendy tabs" that are frequently all broken if it has been opened up one too many times. Get the duct tape

Which is the correct chip for the LH? They are both the same size. One has: 2227355480 printed on the top prominently and B57423 8625 G09 printed on top not so prominently.
The other has the number 2287355832 on top and B57607 S56013 L6150007S '83 with a m and c in a circle
