Thoughts on this one...
No affiliation other than I've been eyeing this one. And been in contact with the seller (Flynt).
Still can't decide if I want one this early (looking for a manual S4 or GT in unique color) . But it sure seems like a nice one.

Just buy it. I love the colour combo and the car appears to be in very good condition with some great patina for its age. The 81 and 82 928 4.5L cars are quite rare and a manual even more so. These particular models are great driving with good balance. Are light weight (compared to the 928S and later models) with good performance. If I lived in the USA I would buy it!

I imagine it's a matter of personal taste. I like the later models, even with the expense of having to rebuild the trans in my 89, I still love it.
BTW, that's a beautiful car. If you like it, buy it.

Like I said given his current fleet....many solid high 13 second low 14 second 1/4 mi cars bone stock....the early 928 might not be so much fun. And I do have a lot of experience with the 4.5 liter 928 Many memorable battles with none turbo 944s on the track..... the 928 tended to be SLIGHTLY faster most of the time.

Nice car. Nice condition!
I actually like those herringbone cloth inserts on those seats. Pretty rare too.
Jim, this one is mocha brown. Is that the same as "brown, very brown"..?

Nice looking little car. Love the color combination, inside and out.
Granted, his comment about the interior being all original is a bit off the mark. Radio, speakers cut into the door panels and rear seat area are not correct...and a shame it happened.
To bad you didn't know someone close by that had an older 928 you could test drive. My 78 has a totally different "feel" than my 84...less power, but it has a quality of its own that makes a smile appear. Sometimes it isn't about the horses.
Good luck, with your decision.
Brian.

I don't love the brown exterior, but I do really like the unique interior and it's documented history. I'm a bit of a sucker for thick service history records.

Go for it, looks to be a nice driver/collector. That's Mocha Braun (451), same color as one of the two donor cars (interior, small bits) for car in avatar. Regret not purchasing the beautiful low mile example below 4-5 years ago. RL member Bruce/No Vector spotted it a few years ago in Germany at a 928 event. Had a 94 Renntech E600 approx. 9 years ago. Car was a beast. T
