87S4. Just put X Pipe & Porken EZK chip in. Simple install without issues but car won't start now. Should it fire right up after chip install or will it take several attempts for the computer to adjust to the chip?
Check the chip orientation on the board (there is a white dot to line up). Just turn it around if installed incorrectly. (On S4 EZ-K it won't fry the chip if put in backwards, unlike S3 EZ-F.)

I would hate to think what an issue would be the car no longer runs ....sorry but that statement just seems very funny to me. No doubt you fail to see any humor in it.
...having same issue here. Have had everything in and out at least once, just triple checked chip alignment U to U on socket and silkscreening.. Will go try once more in the car tonight.
Nope, everything is in solid, and keyed right. No start.
Will swap back in the PEMs tomorrow AM before work. *sigh*

Try the EZ only?
As an aside, why do people immediately post about installation problems, instead of emailing the 'creator', first, anymore?
I found the issue, it wasnt a bad chip from Ken, at all.
Read -very close- what Ken says...do NOT trust what you initially see on the PCB.
It was Dieter, who..back in 1987...was having a bad day.
This is what the EZK chip looks like, in it's stock disassembled condition:
Note the tab in the chip on the left, the matching tab in the plastic socket the chip goes, in, and the silk screened white "tab" on the PCB..that says "tab this way *******..."
Here is what is in my EZK:
See the tab in the socket?
See how it hides the silkscreen on the PCB...
I carefully, installed the chip, as the socket is telling me to...
Coming from this install, was a sharktuner PEM, no tabs on anything to align, so I went with what Dieter presented me from his careful build of the PCB 28yrs ago.
Here's what was hiding under the socket...
Installed the EZK chip correctly per the PCB silkscreen instructions, all is well.
Ken: This is why I posted here, not to complain..but source out any 'wtf' I may have encountered....
Hopefully this helps other people in similar situations.
Wow...that's pretty bad....something to be careful to look for, whenever I get around to this upgrade. I gather, as an S3 owner, were I to reverse the chip, I'd have bigger problems. And without warning, I would have simply assumed the socket was oriented correctly as well...
