Default Lurker Day

How about we have Lurker Day, a thread where each post is from someone who has been on the forum at least a year, with fewer than 10 posts/year. Let's hear from the silent majority. A judgement-free zone - that is, the rest of us arrogant SOBs should lay off. 24 hours only, beginning ... now!

At the very least, tell us how your car is running.

That's great unless I have a question that needs answerin'!

I don't. Yet. But still...

(Edit: I missed the point where this was about a particular thread. I thought it meant all threads! Nothing to see here, move along to the next post )

Long time lurker here. Plan to purchase 928 5.0L this year, now that my large house projects have stopped. Learning everything I can from the masters (you guys) before I take the plunge.

Michael: You're in my neck of the woods! We have a small but good group of owners in the Houston area that would be happy to help out with any questions you have.

Thanks Keith.

I am sure I will have tons of questions, starting with "Who has a well-sorted S4 or S3 for sell?"

Thanks again,
michael

Hi,
This is my 20th post since 06/2002.
I changed my avatar to fit in better.
Now let's make it a limbo contest.

Hi, Dallas area lurker.

My white 90 S4 got a timing belt, water pump, fresh fuel lines, & some other minor stuff in December. I've driven it a total of 70 miles since then. I plan on pulling it out of the garage soon since the weather has been nice.

Good idea for a post.

I'm a reader more so than a lurker, just absorbing as much info and advice as possible. Not being an expert mechanic I don't feel like I have much to offer when diagnosis is needed.

That said, I am having a blast with my 87 S4 automatic. 107,000 miles and am planning to join the SITM group in June.

I have a few things on the docket to fix:
Cruise control
Wheels and tires at some point
Passenger mirror

I'm grateful I have a jump post cover

I've used my shark as a muse for a series of articles in our local Porsche club's monthly newsletter (The Rumble in the Bluegrass Region)

There are only about 4 928s in the Lexington, KY area, best as I can tell, so it is a rare event to see one on the road

Now I have to spend time looking at my post record instead of researching why my fuel consumption seem heavier than normal?

Will be posting 'Please help........." soon.

Thanks in advance.

I'll play.

Brought an '84 project home in 2013. First Porsche of any kind for our household.

Entire tool collection at that point fit on an old cart. What we knew of wrenching would have taken less space. (Ditto photography. Sorry for the crummy pics.)

Shortly thereafter we added an '83 donor / test lab / hangar queen.

We beat on the '83 pretty thoroughly. That was probably our best investment thus far.

Last year we found an '87 that according to DMV had not been licensed for 5+ years prior. Here is a pic the PO placed in the ad.

With considerable help from Porschevert, that got back on the road. Much, much fun.

Now it is offline again while I'm doing additional refresh and upgrades. Almost done. Still learning.

I have been reduced to a lurker I guess. My 928 works great, no issues = no questions

Between a home refurbishment project and other cars in my possession, the 928 has gotten and demanded little attention.

Scratching my head over a tramlining issue, I might need to get back to posting here.
