I always thought that references to the jump post cover were directed to the screw-on bit. You mean to tell me that there was actually a cover, too?? Funny, I first owned my '89 S4 in 1995, and there was no such cover back then.

Yes there was. My '83 I got in '98 had it. Very easy to take off and not to put back on.
