My boot release on my 1985 Porsche 928 S2 was not working. I have fixed it now but I never took pictures to show you how.
The motor was working but the release would not work. It turned out that one of the plastic cog wheels inside the motor was worn in one area and this meant that the cogs would not turn to release the boot.

I found a video on YouTube that told me how to repair the broken cog. This was much easier that trying to buy a new motor.
