928 Hitch system

Burning Brakes
Looks homemade , to make it properly it need to mount to the bumper shock points on the frame. Other wise it restricts the bumper from moving in a impact . I would suggest you don't tow too much.

Definitely a fabricated tow hitch. Not that there's anything wrong with that, especially since the factory-option hitches are extremely rare. The one you have will be fine for towing your under-1klb track trailer with tires and tools. Not so good for dragging the 20' ski boat.

Just check any welded joints. Used to drag my Hobie cats around with my 924 for years. Across beaches up mountains and never had a problem with the car. Keep the weight low and the RPM up and the weight on the tongue low. Yes even Home made hitches are fine. Better to bolt them on and even together as much as you can to prevent vibration cracks of welded joints. I would not use my 928 for such tasks although the car is easily capable.
Just too pretty of a car to hang a hitch on it. Steve
