Default Photo Request: S3 Crankcase Grounds/Fuel Return

Does anyone have a picture of the rear of the S3 engine with the airbox and MAF out, detailing the ground points? I'm hopefully not too far from the re-assembly phase and have been going through the photos to start the process in my head. I'm light on pictures back there and would really appreciate any help.

Here's an artsy photo of my engine in advance if it helps out any

Don't have pics of pre S4 ground points. This was all I had in the folder.

Or instead of photos, can you double check my remembering of the assembly? It goes block -> return hard line bracket -> ground wires? Do any other brackets bolt into those mounts?

Ground goes on top of bracket. That said I removed the hard line for Greg's hose and have the ground bolted directly to the block.

I'm not sure if these are what you are looking for--they are from my top end refresh on my S3.

If you are looking for something more let me know, I'll do some more digging,

Jeremy,
In zek's picture up top you see the fuel hard line. Off to the left you see a bolt that holds the bracket to the block. The one on the other side the bolt is obscured by the CPS line. These are the two ground points on an S4 - they hold the throttle cable pulley bracket to the block.

The s3 uses 10 mm bolts at both sides of the cross bracket as ground points. Pretty straightforward.

Shame that the frequently asked questions sticky can't be edited to represent the non s4 cars. Vast differences exist between the years.

Hmm, I don't have a ground at MPVIII above, what's supposed to ground there?

On the S4 MP VIII & IX ground the LH and EZK controllers.
These are hard to access and keep healthy, but need to be healthy by virtue of what they ground.

I am just beginning a refresh on my 86.5, here is a closeup of the grounds I think you are looking for. Hope it helps-
